SUPERFEED
(Insert Type – Direct Pour / Open / Blind Precision Sleeves for High Pressure Moulding Lines )
SUPERFEED – DP is a technically advanced, pre fabricated, organic resin bonded,highly insulating Direct pour Sleeves with Silicon Carbide Foam Filters, used in the production of Grey, Ductile Iron Castings and non Ferrous Castings.
Runner, InGates and Sprue can be eliminated since SUPERFEED – DP acts as one of the feeders and Molten metal is directly Poured in the Sleeve.
SUPERFEED – DP is available from filter diameters 40 mm to 80 mm
The biggest advantage of SUPERFEED DP over Conventional vacuum formed – fibre based sleeve is very high dimensional accuracy and high modulus extension factor.
The Benefit of high dimensional accuracy of the sleeve allows its usage in high pressure moulding lines and shell molding applications where the requirements of accuracy is inevitable. In Vacuum formed fibre based sleeves,the dimensional tolerance is very high i.e.,+/- 2.5 mm, where as in SUPERFEED DP, it is +/-0.5 mm Only.
The another main benefit of SUPERFEED – DP is, its high Modulus Extension Factor where the size of the Sleeve can be minimized as compared to Sand Risers for the given Volume of Casting to improve the yield.
The Sleeves are available in both PARALLEL & REVERSE Tapers.
The Sleeves can be Customized to any shape and size as per the requirement.
Selection of SUPERFEED – DP is based on
- Adequate filtration capacity of the Foam Filter for the Poured Weight
- Sufficient flow rate to avoid Cold Shut defects.
- Enough Metal in the feeder for feeding of the castings
- The effective Modulus of SUPERFEED – DP must be atleast 20% more than the section modulus of the castings.

Packing :
SUPERFEED Sleeves are available in shrink wrapped cardboard trays for the ease of handling and for reducing moisture pick-up in sleeves.
Storage :
SUPERFEED Sleeves should be kept in room temperature dry place. The sleeves should be removed from its packing only at the time of use to avoid moisture pick-up in sleeves.
